A Glimpse into History: The Black Girl Convergence, affectionately known as the "Convergence," is a celebration of strength, resilience, and sisterhood. This time of year will become a beacon of inspiration as Project Butterfly has been for two incredible decades. Founded by visionaries who recognized the need for a space where Black girls who didn't have viable mother figures could come together, the Convergence has provided a space where girls, facilitators of girls programs and mothers/ caregivers can evolve through this annual gathering of like-minded souls dedicated to co-creating a world that works for Black Girls.

Beyond the Chrysalis: Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future! The theme of the Black Girl Convergence 2024 encapsulates the essence of our journey. "Beyond the Chrysalis: Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future!" reminds us of the transformative power that resides within each of us and the rich tapestry of history and culture that shapes our collective identity.

What to Expect: As you prepare to join us at the NEIU's Carruthers Center in Chicago from July 25-26, 2024, here's a glimpse of what awaits you:

• Girls Rites of Passage Track: A transformative experience for young Black girls, offering mentorship, guidance, and self-discovery.                                                                                                         
• Holistic Workshops: Engage in a variety of workshops, discussions, and interactive sessions that delve into topics like self-esteem, mentorship, self-confidence, and the role of culture in self-perception.                                                                                                                                                                      
• Community Building: Connect with a community that shares your passion for empowerment.  Forge meaningful relationships and collaborations with attendees from diverse intergenerational backgrounds.                                                                                                                            
• Impactful Metrics: We're committed to measuring our success and impact. Our conference impact metrics will assess the positive changes in attendees' lives, community initiatives sparked by the Convergence, and policy advocacy efforts.
