Phase One - The Egg

During this Phase, participants deal with issues around the topics of self-identity.  This phase marks the beginning of setting up a safe space to take responsibility and construct boundaries while examining the truth about who we really are.  Highlights include:
  • Developing a Personal Life Philosophy and Mission
  • Rewriting your history (reconstructing a new empowering paradigm)
  • Deconstructing labels that we have been given by others
  • Combating negative self talk
  • Connecting with our African Birth (Earth) Day Name
  • Creating Sacred Spaces (inside and out)
  • Setting our moral compass
  • The beneficial uses of journaling, meditation, creative visualization and yoga
This phase marks the beginning of setting up a safe space to take responsibility and construct boundaries while examining the truth about who we really are.  Just as with a caterpillar egg, this phase focuses on our individual growth and is marked by an influx of information to set the stage for our rapid growth and development.  This is the foundation building phase.


Phase Two - The Caterpillar

During this Phase, participants deal with issues around the topics of physical identity and body awareness.

  • Understanding Girl Power (the benefits and sacredness of being a female)
  • Understanding our physical anatomy (focusing on our reproductive system)
  • Protecting our Sacred Spaces
  • Strengthening Boundaries
  • Cultivating our Intuition and Inner Voice
  • Understanding our monthly Mood Swings
  • Dealing with Depression, Anger and Sadness
  • Positive Conflict Resolution and Skill Building
  • “Media Meltdown” (Influences of the Media)
  • Creating Individual Style
  • Body Imaging (negotiating new relationships with our bodies)



Phase Three - The Cocoon

During this Phase, participants continue to deal with issues around understanding and reframing relationships.  Highlights include:

  • Learning the art of cocooning (being with myself)
  • Understanding our need for love and intimacy
  • Dealing with violations to our sacred space
  • Looking for “Daddy and Mama Love”
  • Our family legacies of love
  • Understanding our attractions and infatuations
  • Our sexuality (masculine and feminine energy)
  • Toxic Relationships vs. Establishing Healthy Relationships
  • Buying and Selling our bodies
  • Drugs and Alcohol Addiction
  • Dealing with the death of loved ones (our family, friends and peers)
  • Spirituality and Religion: understanding the difference and benefits of both
  • Boundary Strengthening
This phase emphasizes significant personal growth and transformation.  At the end of this phase there should be a noticeable shift in attitude, personal philosophy and outward appearance. Of all of the phases, this one is by far the most challenging but can yield the most significant positive changes.


Phase Four - The Butterfly

During this Phase, participants deal with issues around self-empowerment.  Highlights include:
  • Connecting with my life purpose
  • Identifying my gifts
  • Dealing with “CP” time
  • Income vs. Wealth
  • Finding a Job vs. Fulfilling your Passion and Purpose
  • Dealing with Prejudice and Discrimination
  • Skin Tone Wars
  • Life Mapping/Treasure Mapping
  • Getting my needs met
  • Where is my bottom line?
  • Celebrating my success
