If you are a woman of African descent  who works with young girls and would like to have access to culturally specific exercises, activities, tools and processes designed to promote self-awareness, increase self-esteem, and develop leadership skills?  Would you like access to a network of other women who share your concerns about the future of our girls?  Would you like to enhance your existing program?
Or...
If you are a woman of African descent who is in need of exercises, activities, tools, and processes that are designed to promote your increased self-awareness, self-esteem, emotional intelligence and spiritual groundedness?  Would you like access to a network of likeminded women who are committed to personal growth and positive transformation?

The demand for ethnic-sensitive support is growing as more women and girls of African descent find themselves in need of care.  As women, we see the trauma and drama that girls today are experiencing and many times it motivates s to want to help them.  We are often inspired to "save" a girl whose experiences (for many of us) mirror our own.  How do we as women, create for our girls what they need, when we never received what we needed when we were girls?  Deep down inside we know that the answers lie within our own healing.  We know and recognize our girls' pain because we once were them.
During a time when our nation is struggling with social issues in the Black community, it is imperative for us to look within to heal our wounds.  It does "take a village to raise a child," and to raise a healthy child, the village must be healthy and robust to be effective.  The Butterfly University specializes in supporting Black women in general, but especially Black women who empower our girls.

The Butterfly University provides an emotional, spiritual, and psycho-social cultural perspective while utilizing the life cycle phases of a butterfly to inspire transformation within ourselves as well as the girls we support.   We provide a plethora of tools, activities, and resources to nurture and sustain the emotional health and wellbeing of women while supporting our girls.
